Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School

Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School is located in Preahsdach District Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. It is known as the best school in the Province. The school was built in 1999. It was founded by Mr. Kong Vorn, Director of Cambodia Education Assistance Fund(CEAF). This school is being supported by Japanese Donors such as Japanese Embassy in Cambodia, Friends of CJFS School, Cambodia Education Support From Saga, Japan Heart, Kawi-Juku, Japanese Society and many Japanese friends of Mr. Kong Vorn. There are also supporters from European countries and some partners such as Chances4Cambodia, Initiate Cambodia, etc.


Why the school was built? It is very noticeably point of view of Mr. Kong Vorn , the founder of Cambodia Education Assistance Fund(CEAF), which saying that "It is because of illiteracy that genocide was occurred". So building Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School is surely aiming at promoting and upgrading the education in Cambodia.

We are warmly being taught by Cambodian, Japanese and Foreign teachers, We are warmly being supported the extra time teaching from CEAF and also from Japanese teachers and any foreign teachers. We got scholarship while we are studying at high School and we also get it to pursue our study at the university. Most of the scholarships are from Japanese Donors.

We have happy time and the significant environment of friendship, we become outspending students are thanks to Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School.


Under is the translation to what Sir Kong Vorn introduced us the vision of CEAF:


"April the 17th 1975 was the day that Khmer Rouge overwhelmed Phnom Penh and started to abolish the education system. It was a very strange government to annihilate the scholars during the world is seeking for. Cambodian Buddhism culture and education in the Pagodas were extremely violated. The violently killing of such cruel regime drives Cambodian people to the field of deeply affliction . After the collapse of Khmer Rouge, Cambodia started to rehabilitate all systems, especially the education, and open the country for entering the world economic growth competition. However, as the human resources in Cambodia were seriously destructed, we find a very difficult condition for rehabilitating the economic and competing with the world. So our vision is that Cambodian human resources have to be the first. It is regarded to be very hard task for Cambodian Government in rehabilitating the human resources, so we strongly concern about this problem and this is why we jumped to establish the School. Our main mission is enhancing Human Resource Development to ensure the highly competent and qualified human resources, as our point of view is that “ignoring and illiteracy is the cause of such cruel regime to be occurred in the past history”. Our responsibility is to enrich the talent and the conscientious of teachers in order to transfer positive effect on the education.


We realize that human resources drive Cambodia to be in peace and develop in all fields including in economic and technical advance. This is the reason why CEAF has been doing very hard work to raise the fund in order to build and develop a significant school called “Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School”, the school of mostly donated by Japanese generous donors."

"We, Cambodia Education Assistance Fund (CEAF), have been working very hard in the concept of enhancing the education in Cambodia. We built the school named “Cambodia-Japan Friendship middle and high School”, for helping Cambodian poor students. We use the donation aid from donors for all means of upgrading the quality of education. On behalf of Cambodian, Students, Teachers and Students’ Parents, I would like to warmly request to all races of people as well as Japanese Friends and other Friends, who are aware of Cambodian students’ situation as well and the lives in Cambodia, please kindly join with us supporting them. Up to now(2013), there are 209 students and 2 staffs have been supported scholarships for their University education.
